The Process: What you get for your money…
The first meeting is a really important moment. It gives you the chance to get to know me as a person, and you will quickly know if I am the person you’d love to work with. It also gives me the chance to get to know you, so that I can start to get to know a bit about you as a couple and how I can best tell your story.
Once you enquire, I’ll usually be back in touch within 48 hours and we can arrange to meet in person, as and when suits you. There’s no commitment or cost to making an enquiry or our first meeting. It’s really important you find a photographer who you get on with personally, and who is right for you. You shouldn’t be charged extra for taking the time to do so.
At this meeting, we’ll discuss everything you might want to know and how I plan to capture your best moments in an intimate and non-intrusive way. At this meeting, we can also discuss the more technical details, such as how payments and contracts will work, so that you know exactly what it is you are paying for, and there will be no hidden surprises. You can also ask me any questions you might have, so that you can leave the meeting feeling confident and happy that I am the right person for you.
Before The Big Day:
This is the really important bit. And it’s a huge part of what allows me to achieve my signature style, which you can read about by clicking here. I’ve worked on everything from multi-million dollar films and BAFTA award-winning TV shows, to history documentaries… and trust me, one thing I have seen time and time again is that the more effort you put into the planning, the better the end results. By working with you to really get to know the schedule for your day, your personalities and the wedding location I am able to capture the most intimate and natural images, where you won’t even have to give a thought to the fact there’s even a camera in the room. That’s the key to my natural look, and my ability to capture the best version of your unique story.
We’ll be in contact as many times as you want before the big day, as I am always available by phone or email if you have any questions. We will have our final meeting (required) approximately 4 weeks before your wedding date. Our meetings will be relaxed and fun, and will give me the chance to really get to know things about you as couple, as well as your guests, so that I know which individuals are the most important to you. This part of the process is a big part of what makes me unique as a wedding photographer, that I get the chance to really learn about you and your story. It is also a great chance for you to get to know me so that on the day we can feel comfortable and at ease working with one another.
On the Big Day:
Now for the really exciting bit. It’s your big day, and the two of you should be able to just enjoy it and have the best day imaginable. Your wedding day should feel fun and stress free – not feel like a photo shoot, so that’s exactly what we’ll avoid. Truth be told, because of the emphasis on planning, and the way that I work, you’ll have little contact with me on the day itself. It won’t be until you see your stunning images for the first time that you’ll think ‘Wow, I didn’t even realise Fraser was there for that’. I dress like a guest, and I don’t interfere in proceedings, meaning I blend in and don’t distract from what’s really important… your big day!
The posed photos of you as a couple, and any group photos will vary with every wedding. But as a general rule of thumb, I like to keep each of these sessions to around 30 minutes (or up to an hour, as decided by the couple), so that we can get all the amazing photographs that you need, but without pulling you away from the fun and celebrations for any longer than is necessary. It’s your wedding day, and you should be able to enjoy it!
After the big day: Delivery
As with all my photography, there are no hidden charges. All the costs are upfront, meaning there are no watermarks, restrictions, or nasty surprises when it comes to getting your photos. You’ll receive your photos on a USB drive, as well as an online gallery for your guests. While I can do both printing and professional level albums, please feel free to get your photos printed wherever you wish, they’re your photos!
The typical waiting time for delivery is 4-5 weeks. But don’t worry, you’ll get 5-10 select images of the most important moments to share with your friends and family within 2 working days of the wedding. A lot of work goes into processing the photos after the big event. I edit every photo individually, giving each one the love and attention it deserves and bringing the most out of every moment. As a rule of thumb, for every hour I spend shooting, I’ll spend at least three editing. You worked hard to ensure your wedding day was bespoke, so your photos should be too.
